Renault Clio Corner Weighting

Recently had a Renault Clio Sport in for Corner Weighting. The Cross weight was miles out, RF/RL was 56% - ideal for a clockwise oval circuit, but no good for the road. The Clio is an excellent Track Day car, even standard out the box they go really well.

This car had AST 5100 Coilover Suspension which was race spec in terms of springs and damper lengths. Unfortunately it didn't permit the ideal ride height on the front, without the rear having no droop. So the car will either need roll centre adjuster on the front or have the rear dampers made a little longer, if not it will be 3 wheeling everywhere on track.

Despite what Derek Trotter might say - 4 wheels is better than 3.

A while later the car was at 50%. Then we got the front toe and camber set and had the car 4 wheel aligned at the Garage next door (who have the latest Hoffman Megaplan machine) then back to check the corner weights for one final tweek.

Pleased with result -  bang on 50% RF/LR cross weight.The customer reports the handling and balance are transformed which they would be as we've moved the best part of 160kg of weight from the wrong place!
