NEWS: I recently experienced a BMW 1 Series fitted with TEIN Street Advance and EDFC Active Pro - if you are looking for a car that not only handles really well, has well considered spring rates but is also comfortable, then these kits will really impress you. It's quite surreal watching the damper settings change from the passenger seat as the car is driven. A great piece of technology at a very reasonable price.
You can add EDFC Active Pro (or indeed the more basic EDFC Active) to most TEIN coilover kits.

Street Flex - as well as 16 point damping adjustment, Street Flex incorporates top mounts (camber / caster adjustable on Macpherson Strut) together with adjustable casing length so you no longer have to rely on preload only for ride height changes. |

Monosport - New Tein Monosport is an improved and upgraded version of Tein Monoflex. Incorporating a number of unique features such as Teins Triple Tube Technology. On a conventional inverted monotube the damper is much better able to deal with side loadings than a non-inverted design. What Tein have done with triple tube is construct a unit with a 3rd tube which makes it look like an inverted unit. If you look at the picture to the left this looks like a regular inverted unit but actually that large chrome tube is a secondary tube. It provides an extra guide for the shaft and reduces stiction from side loading and increases damper strength.The best way to think of the design is a metal "cover" over the conventional piston road with a bearing between the two. Monosport is optimised for road and track with enough adjustment in the system to ensure reasonable road manners but stiffly sprung to work the tyres hard enough.Suitable for road and circuit (ideal also for Sprint or Hillclimb). Monotube dampers resist fade and cavitation and the large pistons and high pressure gas ensure a more positive and consistent damping response. Usually a special order product. |

Super Racing - only for a select few applications from Honda, Subaru and Mitsubishi this is Tein's circuit spec racing coilover solution.Offering independent compression and rebound control and with a proper race spring rates this is one of the best off the shelf race kits around. This really is not suitable for road use whatsoever but there have been Japanese cars arriving in the UK with these kits - I guess their roads are a little better than ours! |
