KW Suspension - a brief history
KW started out in 1992 as KW Tuning. A small parts distributor to the trade selling a range of performance parts. In 1995 the first KW Suspension kit was born and then by 1996 KW had moved premises.
By 1997 they had relocated again and were rapidly constructing a larger premises. By 1998 the private company become our equivalent of a public limited company, KW Automotive GmbH. At this point from humble beginnings they are now operating with a total area of 2080 sq m - 22,464 sq ft! If you consider that typical rental costs alone on industrial space are £10 psf it shows just how serious they were. By 2000 KW are starting to get involved in a number of Motorsport arenas.
By 2005 they were established in North America. By 2007 KW are equipping the Manthey Racing team Porsche 911. At the 24hours of the Ring KW equips not just the GT3 RS-R which wins the race outright but also the second place Dodge Viper GT-S entered by Zakspeed Racing. In this year more than 70 teams used KW Suspension on their race cars. KW goes from strength to strength with a commercial partnerships with Chrysler on the SRT10. KW Suspension then becomes the weapon of choice for the WTCC series.
In 2010 KW equip the M3 GTS and continue to be a major force in European and international motorsport every year right up to the present day. Olaf Manthey by now winner of the 24 Hours of the Ring 5 times swears by KW and says "the technology has convinced me"

KW Clubsport is a coilover for the real track day enthusiast who wants to use their car on road but also not find it wanting on circuit. Many kits include top mounts and like V3 have adjustable bump and rebound. Spring and damping rates are more aggressive though to suit the purpose. |
