Gecko Suspension was a brand name established by the owner of Balance Motorsport in 2007. A limited company was incorporated in 2007 and the Suspension systems were trialled successfully by a handful of customers.

Feedback on the suspension was excellent but owing to the costs of importing the kits the brand has only been used since by us on custom suspension kits.  These kits can be built by a number of damper suppliers (We deal with Bilstein, Gaz, AVO etc) and appearances vary. Our Gecko Suspension brand is not to be confused with a range of suspension under the same name that is green in apperance.

WHY GECKO SUSPENSION?
 
Inspired by the amazing grip of the gecko we set out to retail  suspension for road or race that would offer significant increases in handling as well as grip.

We noticed a lot of competitive products were not giving due consideration to factors such as pitch optimisation, natural frequency and wheel rates.

Many kits were just simply adding some more spring rate and damping in a linear fashion. There was too big a gap between the low end of the market and the very high end. The enthusiast road driver needed a suspension kit that worked on road and track and the club competitor needed high end design and build at mid range price.

A Gecko is a small Lizard capable of walking not just up walls but upside down. It does this not with sticky feet but with millions of very fine hairs on it’s feet. A 70 gram Gecko could theoretically support 135 kg of weight. Put that in terms of downforce it’s like a 500kg single seater generating 964,000 tonnes of downforce.

So the Gecko sticks better than any F1 car -  clearly he’s the man for the job...
