Audi RS2 - Bilstein rear dampers

Audi RS2 - Bilstein rear dampers

This is the original Audi RS.

For those that don't know, the Audi RS2 Avant was produced in a limited two-year production run from 1994 to 1995. During this time, only 2,891 units were built, making it a rare and highly sought-after vehicle among petrol heads. The production of the RS2 Avant was a joint effort between Audi and Porsche. The eagle eyed will spot the Porsche wheels and brakes.

With only 180 right hand drive cars made and just 39 registered at the time of writing, this is a rare beast. Mind you there are 86 on SORN so that means that 125 of the 150 remain (although some could be left hookers). This is the mark of a special car.

It was powered by a modified version of their 2,226 cc 5 pot engine making 311 BHP at 6500 rpm and 302 lb-ft.

If you own one of these engines and fancy more power talk to us about Catcams!

When it comes to suspension these cars work best with the Bilstein Monotube units. Over the years there has been discussion about issues with the rear ride height being incorrect using the off the shelf Bilstein damper.

Well fear not - order them through Balance Motor Sport and we will ensure the circlip groove is present to enable correct ride height on an RS2.

Here's a picture of the rear shocks showing the two grooves on a pair we recently supplied.
