Maserati Gran Turismo Suspension

Maserati Gran Turismo Suspension

A potential customer with a Maserati Gran Turismo got in touch by phone recently to discuss problems with the suspension and possibility of fitting KW V3 Coilovers.

He wanted me to drive the car to see what I thought and whether the KW kit would solve the problems.

The Gran Turismo is a wonderful car with a glorious engine. However I could feel that the rear end in particular was steering over bumps and ruts in the road. This is usually a good indicator of worn control bushings. Also worn bushings result in more NVH. These cars are known to wear out control bushings on both front and rear.

The plan therefore is to address the control arms and the bush in the wheel carrier first, and then look at the coilover kit.

Looking forward to driving the finished car. Oh incidentally, having fixed paddle shift levers on the column, is far superior to having them on the wheel, in my humble opinion.
